The University of Mississippi School of Nursing Continuing Education Program is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Mississippi Nurses Foundation Inc., an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
Mission:
To provide educational experiences for the lifelong learning of health care professionals in the state.
Goal:
The University of Mississippi School of Nursing Continuing Education Program supports and augments all programs of the school and Medical Center, promotes life-long learning among faculty, staff, students, and the community; and enhances the professional development of healthcare professionals in Mississippi and surrounding states.
- Promote an awareness of the need for life-long learning among School of Nursing faculty, staff, students, and the community.
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate continuing education/faculty development activities to meet the professional development needs of the School of Nursing faculty
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate appropriate continuing education activities to meet the needs of registered nurses and healthcare professionals in Mississippi and surrounding states.
- Collaborate with the Division of Continuing Health Professional Education to plan, develop, implement and evaluate multidisciplinary continuing education activities that promote interdisciplinary collaboration in health care.
