The Mustard Seed

Our group went to the Mustard Seed. This is a Christian-oriented community for adults who are mentally handicapped. We were welcomed with bright grins and big hugs. It felt as if we had all become instant friends. We mingled with the "seedsters" while they worked on painting their ceramic plates and bowls. After getting to know one another, we provided them a healthy snack. We brought pretzels, peanuts, fruit and water.

Then we enjoyed a lively game of BINGO. Each winner was celebrated with hugs, cheers, and high fives. After lunch and some more chatting, we said our goodbyes. Although we went to volunteer our time, I believe that we received far more than we were able to give. (Reported by Ashley Freeman)
