Accelerated BSN - Application Process
When should I apply?
Applications are accepted beginning July 1 of the year prior to the desired year of enrollment. The deadline date for applications to be complete and in the Office of Student Records and Registrar is January 15 for the class entering annually in May. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance status in March.

A complete applicationStudents must enroll in full time study and no part-time study option is permitted in the Accelerated BSN program option.
Students are strongly encouraged NOT to work while in the program. Applications are accepted beginning July 1 of the year prior to the desired year of enrollment. The deadline date for applications to be complete and in the Office of Student Records and Registrar is January 15 for the class entering annually in May. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance status in March.
| Early Decision Acceptance |
Early Decision acceptance is highly competitive. To be considered for Early Decision applicants must show evidence of high scholastic achievement and must meet the following conditions:
a. The application must be complete and in the Office of Student Records and Registrar by November 1.
b. Thirty (30) hours of pre-requisite courses must be completed of which 14 of these hours are in the pre-requisite natural sciences and mathematics.
Applicants that are accepted in the Early Decision review will be notified in December.
Applications that are not accepted for Early Decision are reviewed with all other applications after the January 15 application deadline date. The deadline date for applications to be complete and in the Office of Student Records and Registrar is January 15. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance status in March.
Applications received less than two weeks prior to the January 15 deadline cannot be assured of adequate time for notification of any missing or incomplete documents.
Individuals whose applications were complete and who have met all admission criteria but were not admitted, will be granted the one-time option of having their application considered in the applicant pool for the following year. For any further consideration, the applicant must reapply.
| In order for your application to be complete, we must receive: |
1. A signed application form
2. A non refundable $25 application fee made payable to the University Medical Center
3. A completed Plan of Study Form4. A completed Personal Statement Form
5. Official transcript from EVERY college attended, including a transcript of grades from the fall semester sent directly from each college to the Office of Student Records and Registrar. Receipts submitted as proof that transcripts have been requested will not be accepted.6. Transcripts in the original sealed envelop can be hand delivered to the registrar's office at UMC.
7. A recent 2"x 2" photograph to be used for verification of records (optional). Please write your name on the back of the photograph.
