RN to BSN / Advanced Standing Program

OVERVIEW

The Advanced Standing RN-BSN program option is designed for the registered nurse student and culminates in a baccalaureate degree. The program consists of 63 semester hours of lower division prerequisite courses and 31 semester hours of upper division course work which can be completed in one calendar year. All prerequisite hours must be successfully completed prior to enrolling in upper division courses. After successful completion of N457- Role Transition, the student will be awarded 40 transfer hours of credit applicable toward hours required for the degree. Students must complete 31 hours in residence.

The RN-BSN program is offered at the School of Nursing at The University of Mississippi Medical Center and at the De Soto Center site in Southaven, MS. Coursess are delivered online although some class attendance on campus sites may be required. These classes will be delivered through interactive distance learning via compressed video transmission between the two sites.
