Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree

The University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Nursing was the first school in the state to offer a bachelor's degree in nursing. Now, over half a century later, the SON offers two distinct bachelor's degree programs — the Traditional BSN and Accelerated BSN. Located on the state's only academic health science campus, the School of Nursing has a program to fit your needs, career goals and lifestyle.

Freshman Early Entry (BSN) - The UMMC School of Nursing Freshman Early Entry (BSN) program provides an entry into the baccalaureate nursing program as a college freshman, rather than as a junior.

Traditional BSN - The Traditional BSN program involves challenging and rewarding learning experiences that reflect the standards of professional nursing practice and prepare graduates for professional leadership careers in a multitude of health-care environments.

Accelerated BSN - The Accelerated BSN program is designed for individuals who have a bachelor's degree in another field and wish to change career paths in a short amount of time. This particular program takes 15 months to complete and includes a continuous four-semester curriculum.
