| Traditional BSN Admission Criteria |
1. A complete application
2. An enhanced ACT score of 21 or above and a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Note: The ACT score will not be used in admission consideration for applicants who have completed a baccalaureate degree in another field by the end of the fall semester prior to the January 15 application deadline date.
3. Completion of required prerequisite course with a minimum of grade C in each course.

Instructions to Applicants for Admission Applications are accepted beginning July 1 of the year prior to the desired year of enrollment.
Applications are reviewed for the BSN program in the fall for early notification of acceptance (Early Decision) and again after the January 15 application deadline date for the new class that enters in May each year.
| Early Decision Application Process |
To be considered for Early Decision the applicant must show evidence of high scholastic achievement and must meet the following conditions:
Applicants that are accepted in the Early Decision review will be notified in December.
Applications that are not accepted for Early Decision are reviewed with all applications after the January 15 application deadline date.

The deadline date for applications to be complete and in the Office of Student Records and Registrar is January 15. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance status in March.
Individuals whose applications were complete and who have met all admission criteria but were not admitted, will be granted the one-time option of having their application considered in the applicant pool for the following year.
For any further consideration, the applicant must reapply. In order for your application to be complete, we must receive:

Only applicants accepted into the program will receive additional information regarding health requirements, program orientation, class schedule, textbooks, and other important information.
Students who enroll in the program must hold current certification in Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) as Health Provider (American Heart Association) which includes the required Adult, Child and Infant Life Support.
Background Checks
Mississippi Law requires all health care workers, including students, to have completed criminal history background checks. All School of Nursing students will be required to successfully complete a criminal history background check, including fingerprinting, prior to final acceptance into the program. A felon conviction may affect a graduate’s eligibility to be licensed or certified.
