PhD Program

 

Established in 1997, this program is a collaborative PhD program between the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) and the University of Southern Mississippi (USM).

 

Mission of the Program
To generate and translate knowledge toward improving the health of individuals, families, communities and populations.

 

Program Outcomes
Upon completion of the program, graduates will be prepared to:

  1. My experience was everything I could have wished for in a doctoral program. Design, conduct, direct and distribute research studies in nursing and health.
  1. Test and /or generate concepts, theories, and models in nursing science and practice.
  1. Assume leadership role in generating and implementing solutions for building healthy communities.
