Early-Entry Degree Programs

Early-entry programs at the University of Mississippi Medical Center allow eligible students to reserve a spot in a competitive program — either the Traditional BSN program, the RN-MSN program or the DNP program — without the stress of competing against hundreds of applicants.

These early-entry routes provide a seamless transition from high school, an associate-degree program or a master's program to higher education.

Freshman Early Entry - The UMMC School of Nursing Freshman Early Entry program provides an entry into the baccalaureate nursing program as a college freshman, rather than as a junior.

RN-MSN Early Entry - The RN-MSN Early Entry program provides eligible first-year Hinds Community College and Northwest Mississippi Community College associate-degree nursing students with an opportunity to apply for the RN-MSN program during their first-year of ADN coursework, rather than after graduation.

Post-Master's DNP Early Entry - Currently, the UMMC School of Nursing offers an early-entry option for students currently enrolled in the UMMC MSN program. This early-entry route allows master's students to reserve a spot in the competitive Doctor of Nursing Practice program after completing the first semester of MSN coursework.
