Post Master's Program - Admissions Information

 

Admissions to the Master's program is based on evaluation of the following data by the Student Admission and Graduation Committee.

2. Baccalaureate degree and master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution (NLN or CCNE) with a minimum cumulative gradepoint average of 3.0 on a 4 point scale for graduate coursework

3. Clinical experience as a registered nurse is required only for the Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner track (1 year intensive care preferred).

4 Evidence of current unrestricted licensure (RN) to practice in the United States and eligibility for licensure in Mississippi and/or privilege to practice in a state in which the student will have clinical practice.

5. Preadmission Counseling.

6. Official transcript from all schools attended.

In unusual instances the Graduate Admission and Progression Committee may consider applicants who do not meet the admission criteria.

 

The School of Nursing reserves the right to offer programs based upon the number of acceptable applicants admitted. When a program will not be offered due to limited enrollment, the applicant will be notified and other admission options will be explored.
