Academic Programs at the Oxford Campus

 

Kinard Hall - SONThe University of Mississippi School of Nursing offers a traditional BSN program on the Jackson and Oxford campuses. Distance learning technology allows students on both campuses to share lecture and classroom activities.

 

The University of Mississippi Medical Center provides a site for clinical experiences for students from both campuses.

 

Oxford Campus students have additional clinical experiences at Baptist - Oxford and North Mississippi Medical Center.

 

The University of Mississippi School of Nursing on the Oxford Campus has the capacity for 20 students per class. Priority enrollment at The University of Mississippi School of Nursing on the Oxford Campus is limited to students accepted into The University of Mississippi School of Nursing Freshman Early Entry program on the Oxford Campus.


Freshman Early Entry Program

Application into the Freshman Early Entry program on the Oxford Campus is restricted to students already admitted to the University of Mississippi on the Oxford Campus.

 

By November 1 of their freshman year, Oxford campus students must apply to The University of Mississippi School of Nursing Freshman Early Entry program.

 

Criteria require that student seeking Early Entry must:

  • have a miminum score of 24 on the ACT;
  • have a 3.5 high school GPA; and
  • declare pre-nursing as their major.

 

Students accepted into this program must meet the progression requirements set forth in the Freshman Early Entry program. In the spring semester of their sophomore year, students in the Freshman Early Entry program are reviewed for entry in to the Nursing major at The University of Mississippi School of Nursing.
