Important Changes to Academic Programs

 

We have made many important changes regarding admission criteria, prerequisite courses, and the application process to our undergraduate programs. We are also pleased to announce our new RN-MSN program! Please review the following list of changes regarding each of the programs listed.

 

Traditional BSN
  • General Chemistry II is no longer a required prerequisite course. In its place, we will be requiring an upper-level Biology elective for science majors. We will still accept General Chemistry II for this requirement.

  • The HESI Pre-Admission Assessment exam is no longer required for admissions to the Traditional BSN and Accelerated BSN programs.
Accelerated BSN
  • Applicants interested in the Accelerated BSN program must complete a minimum total of 63 hours of required prerequisite courses. A list of these prerequisite courses may be found on the Accelerated BSN program page.

  • General Chemistry II is no longer a required prerequisite course. In its place, we will be requiring an upper-level Biology elective for science majors. We will still accept General Chemistry II for this requirement.

  • To be considered for the Accelerated BSN program, a cumulative overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale on the following science prerequisite courses is required:
    • Anatomy & Physiology I and II with lab
    • Microbiology with lab
    • Chemistry I with lab
  • Early Decision acceptance is highly competitive. To be considered for Early Decision applicants must show evidence of high scholastic achievement and must meet the following conditions:
    • The application must be complete and submitted to the Office of Student Records and Registrar by November 1.
    • Thirty (30) hours of prerequisite courses must be completed of which 14 of these hours are in the prerequisite natural sciences and mathematics
Advanced Standing RN - BSN
This program has currently been put on hold. We will not be admitting students into this program for the 2010-2011 Academic Year.

 

Dual Option RN - BSN - MSN

We no longer offer this program.

The RN-MSN is a brand new program designed to better meet the needs of our prospective students. This program is designed for associate's degree RNs who are looking to earn their master's degree in a flexible environment. With this program, you can earn your master's degree in just 2 to 3 years while working!
