Biography |
Dr. Jean Walker has over 30 years of nursing practice with clinical expertise in administration, psychiatric mental health nursing and medical- surgical nursing. She currently serves as the director of the Nurse Educator track in the MSN program. Her varied clinical background and education in higher education have provided her expertise in teaching and learning methodologies as well. She has taught in the undergraduate BSN, RN-BSN and Accelerated BSN programs. She served as co-principle investigator and grant writer for a funded $750,000 HRSA grant for the development and implementation of a multigenerational, population-based Accelerated BSN program, utilizing a PBL methodology. She has conducted and published several research projects regarding generational differences in nursing education. She also developed the "Walker's Teaching Methods Instrument" research tool that is gaining national acclaim in nursing education. |
