Objectives

The Goal of the University of Mississippi School of Nursing Continuing Education Program is to support and augment all programs of the school and Medical Center, promote life-long learning among faculty, staff, students, and the community; and enhance the professional development of healthcare professionals in Mississippi and surrounding states.

Objectives:

1. Promote an awareness of the need for life-long learning among School of Nursing faculty, staff, students, and the community.

2. Plan, develop, implement and evaluate continuing education/faculty development activities to meet the professional development needs of the School of Nursing faculty.

3. Plan, develop, implement and evaluate appropriate continuing education activities to meet the needs of registered nurses and healthcare professionals in Mississippi and surrounding states.

4. Collaborate with the Division of Continuing Health Professional Education to plan, develop, implement and evaluate multidisciplinary continuing education activities that promote interdisciplinary collaboration in health care.
