Assistant Professor Karen Winters is an Assistant Professor in the Schools of Nursing and Medicine. She has been at the Medical Center since August of 1995. She currently serves on the Institutional Review Board and is the chairperson of the School of Nursing Faculty Organization and Governance Committee. She has served as the School of nursing representative on the faculty senate, Voluntary Health Agencies fund raising campaign, and the American Heart Association heart walk team.
Dr Winters is completing a postdoctoral supplement with the Jackson Heart Study with a focus on health care access and utilization. Her other research interest include racial disparities in health and health care, health insurance status, cardiovascular care, and analyzing data from large data sets.
